Sorry for the delay everyone; I was busy having a fun old time driving the many roads between Edmonton and Cold Lake grabbing stuff for my convocation on June 5th this past weekend. This blog (and my other blog about Wednesday and Thursday which will come out later in the week) would have had more pictures in it, but the device I took the pictures with (my phone) had and unfortunate accident and is no longer with us.
So Monday was fairly laid back, I was able to meet my community supervisor Agnes. Her official title is executive director of the Cold Lake Friendship Centre, but real title is superwoman.
She unfortunately had a meeting for the majority of the day so I wasn't able to get to the meat and potatoes of the summer quite yet. I took this opportunity to blog last weeks events (check them out, the blogs are pretty sweet). I got to get familiar with building and the lovely little set up this place has. It's modest but the plans for the new Friendship Centre are amazing. I'll post pictures of a rough drawing once I get the ability to. But here is a link to an interesting article of what the Friendship Centre hopes to accomplish. http://www.coldlakesun.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3009476
Tuesday was filled with more of the same thing I did on Monday, I mostly researched and blogged.
Wednesday and Thursday were event filled days, I went to a Residential School workshop. The details of that will be posted later in the week. (It should be longer than this one and filled with a lot of information.)
Friday was another research day. But here is a link to the National Association of Friendship Centre's if you are interested in reading more about Friendship Centre's in general! http://www.nafc.ca/home.htm
Stay tuned for further posts!

Not an actual image of my supervisor... |
